Meet Coach Hailey

Hailey grew up in a small town in Ohio and began swimming competitively at the age of 5.  Her mom and dad rode bikes recreationally but loved longer distances.  By 12, she and her sister had ridden a tandem on a 2-day, 210 mile bike ride!  Sport has always been her form of meditation and brings her the most mental clarity.  After college (where she smoked and drank too much!), she moved to San Francisco.  Always wanting to be like her big sister, in 2004, she did her first “Tri 4 Fun” and was hooked.  By 2006, she had done her first half iron distance (Wildflower), and in 2010 decided she was ready to tackle Ironman.  It was there that she found her groove. She qualified for Kona at that first Ironman and hasn't looked back. She loves the day in, day out “grind” and thrives in those final few hours of an Ironman.  Hailey is the co-founder of Coeur Sports and lives in Silicon Valley with her husband, Mark and daughter, Ellie

What motivated you to begin coaching?

I’m really passionate about helping others succeed. I love seeing my athletes execute on a goal and to see how much excitement that brings them.

Half and Full iron distance events

What is your coaching philosophy?

My philosophy is that there is no secret sauce. I focus on keeping my athletes healthy and happy so that they can achieve consistency in training, which is what drives long-term success and results. #consistencyisntsexybutitworks

Coaching certifications and experience

No technical certifications, but I’m an 10x Kona Qualifier and a 3x Podium finisher at Kona and I think with experience, comes knowledge and that is what I use in my coaching.

By following in my big sister’s footsteps! And I was hooked from there..
